Primoro, Inc., is actively engaged in promoting the use of social networking tools, a.k.a. Web 2.0 technologies, in medical practices. As you might suspect, many physicians are reticent about betting involved for fear that patients may use such a tool as a vehicle to disparage their doctor.
While that possibility exists physicians must recognize that there are many internet sites designed to provide patients the ability to "rate" their doctor. I've looked at these sites and there are patients out there who proverbially "throw their doctor under the bus." So what is a physician to do?
Oddly enough, I came across this blog through social networking. Follow this link and take a look at it. I believe you will find the information compelling enough to get involved in social networking.

Robert,
Thank you very much for linking to my blog post.
With regards to these sites, I tend to agree with Dr Shaili Jain. Dr. Jain says, "whether publicly available performance evaluations will actually result in better care and service for patients or just more bureaucracy and wasted energy remains to be seen."
Physician sites notwithstanding, there is a strong incentive for medical offices to embrace social media and everything Web2.0 has to offer.
Thanks

Good Afternoon Brandon, Thank you for your comment. I have long believed that social networking and other Web 2.0 technologies are under-utilized by the medical industry. Patients have long desired a personal relationship with their doctor and social media, in the right context, can help doctors make that connection with the opportunity for better health!
